Scarce edition of the yearbook of the city of Middelburg for the year 1793, which contains the names of the most important people in the country and city in that year, including magistrates and directors of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, but also city officials, physicians, judges, headmasters, and firefighters, as well as the local preachers, pastors, and rabbis. The work includes the Middelburgsche wagt-almanach for the same year, with information on the holidays, tides, and eclipses. The Naamwijzer for Middelburg was published annually from the early 18th century until 1900, and was always accompanied by the almanac. It is an important source for genealogists or those interested in the demography of Middelburg.
The wrappers are somewhat creased and are slightly too small for the bookblock. The sewing supports have broken, so the bookblock is partially detached from the wrappers, the leaves are somewhat browned. Otherwise in good condition.
