With manuscript title in black and grey ink and 39 full-page manuscript plates with beautifully drawn and professionally executed washed pendrawings and watercolours of the projections of solid bodies and of plans and designs on perspective for architects and stone cutters, all versos blank. Very beautiful manuscript course on projections and perspective, including perspective plans and designs for architectural "trompe-l'oeil".
The course is divided as follows:
- "Projections", plates 1-5, depicting perspective projections of solids, of a prism and cone.
- "Penetrations", plates 6-9, showing a prism within a sphere, a cylinder and cone within a sphere, and the penetrations of a cylinder into a cone, a prism into a cylinder, and a cone into a prism.
- "Perspective", plates 10-15, teaching the drawing in perspective of all sorts of forms in all sorts of positions, including their enlarging and reducing.
- "Coupe des Pierres", plates 16-31, teaching perspective for use of stone cutting of all sorts of forms, like doorways, domes, niches, etc., also including the teaching of perspective stone cutting of illusory architecture, like "trompe-l'oeils" of corridors, niches, vaults, etc.
- "Escaliers", plates 32-39, with all sorts of perspective designs for stairs and staircases.
Rare and beautiful manuscript perspective course, probably designed by a perspective teacher at a drawing academy. Very lightly foxed throughout. Otherwise in very good condition.
