First edition of a popular compendium of science, presenting both serious scientific optical and physical demonstrations and experiments, and descriptions of conjuring tricks, fireworks, games with numbers, etc. The added treatise on clocks was based upon Martinelli's Horlogi elementari, with popular observations by Ozanam added. The present work became very popular and was used at schools as well as in the homes to teach youth all aspects of mathematical sciences.
The bindings show some signs of wear, mainly around the spines and the edges and corners of the boards, occasional very slight browning. Otherwise in very good condition.
