First Italian editon of a beautiful and interesting work containing engraved designs for all sorts of ornaments used in garden decoration. Johann Gottfried Grohmann (1763-1805) was a German engraver and artexpert. He also published several theoretical works on architecture.
With a small blind-stamped label on the front pastedown ("F.F. Hofgärtnerei Donaueschingen") and a blue oval library stamp on the verso of the title-page ("Furstliche Hofbibliothek Donaueschingen"). The spine and extremities of the boards show some slight signs of wear. Otherwise in very good condition. Berlin Kat. 3380; Cicognara Lib. 523; WorldCat 67697045; cf.
